Catalyst Crew: Youth Changemakers Video Challenge 2024

With great excitement, the Health Action International Asia Pacific (HAIAP) network is organizing a video competition for the 2nd time, as a platform to highlight the contributions of youth to the society. 

Objectives:

  1. To highlight the contributions and innovations among participants on the community and social engagements.
  2. To celebrate the spirit of philanthropism and volunteerism among youth.  
  3. To create a platform for idea exchange and creativity expansion using digital content making.
  4. To promote the idea of ‘changemakers’ in the context of community and social engagements among the participants.

This competition is open to all individuals aged between 18 to 30 years residing in Malaysia. All participants will receive a certificate of participation by the HAIAP Network . 

Themes** (choose either one):

1) Health Equity: Bridging the Gaps

Shed light on disparities in healthcare access and outcomes. Participants can create videos that highlight initiatives and individuals working to bridge the gaps and promote health equity.

2) Building a Healthy Community

Participants can showcase initiatives that promote health and well-being at the community level. This could include community gardens, fitness programs, or initiatives that improve access to healthcare.

AwardWinners will receive the Beverley Snell Award which will be presented during the World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness (AMR) Week (WAAW) celebration between 18th – 24th November 2024. 
**In conjunction with the WAAW, inclusion of Antimicrobial Resistance elements is highly encouraged

Competition Guideline

  1. One team may consist of maximum 5 individuals. If the project involved more than 5 individuals, please acknowledge the remaining team members in the Acknowledgement section. 
  2. The information included in the video should be concise, accurate and relevant to the theme. 
  3. Upload the video on YouTube as ‘Unlisted’. Include the link to the video in the registration form. 
  4. The submission deadline is 15th October 2024 (11.59pm).

Rules for video and content  

  1. Each video should be in maximum length of 3 minutes. 
  2. There is no format for the video, it is up to your creativity to increase audience engagement.  
  3. The information should include: 
  • Title of the project/activity 
  • Objectives of the project/activity
  • Target audience/community 
  • The impact of the project/activity on target audience 
  • The contribution of the team as the ‘Catalyst Crew’ in the project  
  • Any relevant recognition/ award obtained (if any)
  • Any collaborators and/or funding agencies involved (if any)

* Upon submission of the video, you hereby permit the organizers to use the video to be broadcasted in social events and social media.
